One of the most frustrating things about trying to schedule guests is  when they first agree then never reply to your messages. This happened twice when a journalist assured me was fine to come on air then forgot all about us. It is never certain why guests cancel and it can be for very good reasons but when  he has read your messages and still refuses to reply it really is tough to take . We had another cancel for very good reasons; Hurricane Fiona decimated the Nova Scotia power lines so our Canadian guest reluctantly had to postpone.

On  Mon 26th  regular guest Andrew Wilson looked at the impact of the Mini – Budget and the new King. As ever the conversation became anti monarchy and anti Tory as both stories brought dismal reading. Andrew as ever remained balanced with his commentary but was forced to admit it had been a bad week

On Tues 27th the aforementioned guest never turned up and I gave him until 6pm the previous evening but nada nothing. This always makes the show more difficult. Three hours suddenly feels like Five and all your research is for nothing. The only good thing is I can play more of the music that is sent to us.

Wed 28th Bill Cruickshank is becoming a regular feature and no wonder. Bill is Scottish to the core and loves to give positive stories. Stood in for our Canadian guest who was without power. The topics of the day were aired and discussed in rigorious fashion.

29th Sept we had no guest but this was design rather then chance. We were sent music by Arthur Coates and Cathal Murphy which we downloaded and aired. Arthur is from Aberdeenshire and Cathal from Northern Ireland proving that Caledon Radio reaches further than many would imagine.

Fri 30th This was a day to introduce one of my youngest guests 20yr old Arthur Coates who brought his new album Trapdoor to Hell to Caledon Radio. A very modest guy Arthur told me of his desire to play music from Quebec which lead him to the Canadain Province to record his album. Full of uplifting and very new music Arthur has done very well not just to play excellent fiddle but sing really well sung songs. We chatted about his beginnings and his future plans which I think with his talent could be huge.
