th Oct Another packed week started with the news that we had a new PM in Rishi Sunak. He was coronated just after we came off air on Friday so myself and Andrew Wilson looked at the carnage that is the economy and the Tory party. It was a catch up that explored the new underwhelming cabinet choc full of yesterdays men. Surprisingly of all was the reintroduction of Suella Braverman who breached the code of conduct only a week earlier. This may come back to haunt Sunak.

th Oct  Today was a day of going it alone after a decision was taken to play the backlog of new music sent to us. To be honest this was a labour of love letting me concentrate on promoting new Scottish talent. Believe me this goes down well abroad where our music is very well recieved. Breabach Elephant Sessions Ho Ro and many more were showcased.

th Oct  I was joined by the talented journalist from the National Steph Brawn who helped me analyse the current political movements and shared some stories from the paper she writes for. It was a very smooth and interesting discussion with a female journalist who gave a very different perspective on events from male guests. Really enjoyed having Steph on

th Oct The usual research and phone call the night before usually gives me enough for a decent conversation. Once we put out on social media what we were discussing I realised this was a bigger issue than I had first thought. The Book of  Dear is currently residing in Cambridge but nearly everyone concerned says this is a book that belongs in Aberdeenshire. The implications for the local North East economy and esteem are massive. Tourism could be boosted, business’  and the local economy in the shire and the City could benefit. We had the biggest email bag ever and requests to repeat the program 3 times

th 0ct  I had the glorious guest Rachel Jack join me. We listened to her story of emergency surgery which meant she could not sing. This while being accepted on the Paulo Nutini scholarship. Undaunted she made her way from Inverallochy to Ayr. While in a seminar she was asked to put more into her song at which she broke down crying. It was out, people now knew of her struggles. Rachel felt a sense of relief that the class were up to date on her health. It is remarkable how she overcame this and started to write some fantastic music. Her latest EP is all connected with grief and its many forms. Interestingly she says she now doesn’t want to play these tracks as she is now in a better place.  I disagree Caledon Radio love her music and will continue to play it out
